Blog post
Greetings and salutations fellow class mates of grade seven. For my blog post I am going to be talking about social studies class. Right now in social studies class we've been talking about poverty in Sub-Saharen Africa. We've been doing a lot of assignments like vocab definitions, maps of Sub-Saharen Africa, title pages, and a lot of other stuff like that. Recently we have done a speech on poverty in Sub-Saharen Africa, My topic was economy. Since it is almost the end of the year we have to do year end projects. The project is to make a brochure on a country, my country is Norway. That concludes my blog post and see you next time on savith tries to do a blog post.

Science Blog Post

This week in science class we started our new unit, "The earth's Crust." Although this topic can be viewed as mundane and kind've repetitive, I enjoy learning about this sector of the science curriculum as it has always been my favourite.

As we learn more about the three different categories of rocks, and their specific formation (each of which I will share a definition), we strengthen our knowledge and understanding of the difference between rock and mineral.

Sedimentary Rock:

A rock in which is formed through burial, compression, and chemical modification of deposited weathered rock debris or sediments of the earth's surface.

Igneous Rock:

A rock in which is formed through solidification of magma that solidifies and cools at the earth surface to conceive an extrusive or volcanic igneous rock. Or when molten lava cools and solidifies beneath the earths surface to conceive an intrusive or plutonic igneous rock

Metamorphic Rock: Rock in which is formed when existing rock is chemically or physically modified by intense heat or pressure.

I am thoroughly pleased to inform you that I am enlightened with new information each science class, and it would like to thank you all for listening to my blog post.

Crisis in Ukraine

Crisis in Ukraine

Today, for my blog post, I have decided to talk about the crisis in Crimea. Recently,
eight European military observers were held as prisoners by pro-Russian in eastern Ukraine. they were marched out, but under armed forces to show that they are not being mistreated. Later that day, a prisoner was released because of medical reasons.

Also on Sunday, pro-Russian activists stormed the television broadcasting center to demand the that Russian channels are to be put back on air. These channels were blocked by the Kiev government because the serve as propaganda tools. The activists wore camouflage outfits and face masks, which is the regular uniform of pro-Russian forces that have seized government buildings in Ukraine.

blog post

Hi, my name is Michele and today for my blog post I am going to be talking about what we are doing in ELA. the first thing I am going to talk about is this project that we got about a week ago. The project was that we had to make a Webpage. We did this project in groups my group was Mathew, Savith, Harsh, Ben and me. are webpage was called KHREJ. We came up with it by combining the first letter in all of our last name and making it sound good. In our game we have three classes mage, spy, and warrior. My favourite class is mage.

In ELA class we also got a cereal box project. In this project we have to create a cereal and design the box for the cereal. The cereal name also has to have a repeating sound like Frosted Flakes the Fs are repeating. My cereal is called Planet Puffs. That is what we are doing in ELA class. I hope you enjoyed my blog.

           Blog Post
For my third blog post I decided to write about our Social Studies class. In Social Studies we are learning about Africa. We had to write definitions about the chapter 8 vocabulary words. We have to make a title page on chapter 8 with pictures relating to the title. We had to write 5 paragraphs on the back explaining why we chose that picture. We are going to do our unit test in May. When Mr. Jackson left Ms. Macdonald did a review with us and talked about latitudes, longitudes, tropics etc. We also talked about human density and population. We talked briefly about the aboriginals in Australia. We talked about how Canada owns 20% of the Earths fresh water. I’m not sure what we will do next in Social Studies. Thank you. http://www.evl.uic.edu/pape/Gallery/PathfinderGlobe.jpghttp://www.mapsofworld.com/africa/maps/africa-map.gif

Science

In science we are learning about the earth's crust. We learned about the core/crust of the earth, the lithosphere, igneous rock, sedimentary rock , metamorphic rock, mantle, and asthenosphere.

The core of the earth is the inside layer of the earth. The earth's inner core is extremely burning hot and not possible to travel to because of temperature and rigid. The earth's outer core is still impossible to travel to because of temperature but is not rigid it's more of a liquid. The crust of the earth is a thin layer of skin of the earth. The crust is the outermost solid shell of a rocky planet or natural satellite.

The lithosphere is the crust and upper-most solid mantle or the rigid outermost shell of the earth. Igneous rock is formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. sedimentary rock are types of rock that are formed by the deposition of material such as sand dead animals etc. at the earth's surface and within bodies of water. Metamorphic rock is the original rock subjected to heat and pressure, causing physical or chemical change. Mantle is the middle layer of the earth. The asthenosphere is the highly viscous, mechanically weak and de-shaped region of the upper mantle of the earth and it lies below the lithosphere.

This is what we have been learning in science and it's been pretty fun so far. Then we had a short 5 question pop quiz and it was not that big of a surprise apparently...l but overall science hasn't been bad and this is a easy subject right now because I understand most of it.
