Christmas in October!
This week is Christmas in October! (October 21st
– October 24th) Christmas in October is a fun way for the grade
seven’s and eighth’s to raise money for the four children we sponsor. Last
year, we raised enough money to give them each $475. We call this Christmas in
October because the school had asked if there was any time we could send them
money. They told us that we could send them some for either Christmas or their
birthday. Since all their birthdays are all around Christmas or October, we
created Christmas in October. This year we have four days to raise all the
money we can. The fee to participate this week is $2, and you get to take part
in all the fun dress up days and activities at lunch.
On Monday, we all dressed up in red and green and played a
fun game of tug of war. Today is Tuesday, and we’re supposed to dress up as a
Christmas character. On Wednesday, it’s stripes day(Candy Cane Day), and we’re
doing 3 on 3 Basketball. To end off the week, Thursday is Crazy Hat and Tie
day! At lunch on Thursday we are doing a jello eating contest. Another way to
donate is to purchase a paper ornament from your home room teacher at $1 each.
Our goal with the ornaments is to fill the classroom doors and hallway. Well, I
think that’s it for Christmas in October. Have a good week, and Merry
Christmas!
